Review

The scope question is now in its fourth quarter and this review does not resolve it. The stack is baked rather than griddled, arrives as one unit rather than a stack, and is served in the vessel it was cooked in. Three separate reviewers have asked whether it belongs on this site. The position taken here is that it is evaluated under the standard rubric until somebody writes down a rubric it should be evaluated under instead, and nobody has.

Observed behaviour is strong on the dimensions the construction favours. Rise at 4.6 is second in the cohort. The walls climbed the pan and held their shape for roughly ninety seconds after leaving the oven, then settled to a shallow bowl, which is expected and is not scored as a failure.

Syrup retention at 2.9 is the weak dimension and it is structural. The settled bowl collects syrup at the centre, so the outer third of the surface is dry and the centre is saturated. Distribution, not volume, is the issue.

Growth area: the stack has not engaged with the classification question at all. It continues to be produced without reference to the dispute it is at the centre of.

For 2026-Q4 the expectation is a position on scope, submitted in writing, and even syrup distribution across the surface.

Calibration note. Scored under the standard rubric pending resolution of the scope question. Scores would not change materially under an alternative rubric.

Dimension breakdown, 2026-Q3
