2026-Q3 review · Level P4 · Active
Buttermilk Classic, Stack of Three
Review
The stack continues to meet expectations for its level. Structure held through the second cut, and syrup distribution was even across all three layers, which is consistent with prior quarters. Absorbency remains the strongest dimension.
The specific behaviour worth recording is the third pour. On a rested batter the third pancake in the ladle sequence is usually the weakest of a set, and this one measured within a millimetre of the first. That is a reliability signal, and it is the reason the stack has held a Meets rating through two rubric revisions.
Growth area: the stack operates well within a known context and has not yet demonstrated impact beyond it. When paired with bacon, it defers rather than leading the plate. At P4 we would expect more evidence of the stack shaping the outcome of the breakfast rather than participating in it.
Composite movement this quarter reflects cohort composition. Two stronger candidates entered the cohort in 2026-Q2 and the distribution was applied accordingly. This is not a signal about observed performance. Every dimension score is flat or improved against the 2026-Q1 baseline.
For 2026-Q4 the expectation is unchanged scope with visible movement on cross functional pairing. The stack knows what it is. The question the committee has asked twice now is whether it can be anything else, and the answer so far is that it has not been asked to be, which is not the same as a demonstrated ceiling.
Calibration note. No dimension score has fallen since 2026-Q1. The composite decline is a function of rubric weighting and cohort composition.
Dimension breakdown, 2026-Q3
Each dimension is scored from 1.0 to 5.0 and multiplied by the weight in force for 2026-Q3. The weighted column sums to the composite.
